Cooke kids have a heart of gold

Oct. 4, 2017

George L. Cooke students made a human gold ribbon to support pediatric cancer awareness.During the month of September, the George L. Cooke Elementary School put their best foot forward by building awareness and raise money for kids with Pediatric Cancer.

Students were encouraged to help by purchasing a gold paper heart that they were able to decorate and then display in the school hall. They were also asked to wear a gold or yellow shirt as a culmination to the month.

The whole school gathered together out on the playground to form a ribbon shape for a photo and then they broke into the “Whip Nae Nae” dance to show support for “whipping” cancer.

The Cooke School contribution, thanks to parents, students and staff, totaled $282.00.
