Monticello students to perform at Liberty Jazz Festival

Jan. 25, 2018

Students from the Monticello Central School District Jazz program will participate in the 22nd annual Liberty Jazz Festival on  Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018 at 7 p.m. at the Liberty Middle School gymnasium (snow date is Feb. 4).
The festival will feature high school and middle school jazz ensembles from Monticello, Liberty and TriValley middle schools and high schools.

This year's clinician is Melissa Gardiner.

Emerging jazz trombonist Melissa Gardiner has been described by Curtis Fuller as technically creative and emotionally powerful. Her improvisation is inspiring and motivating for the listener, and she draws you in with a raw expression that directly relates to life experience.

The clinic will take place from 3 to 5:30 p.m. and the concert will begin at 7 p.m. in the Liberty Middle School gym. Admission for the event is $3. For a family of five or more the maximum price will be $15. Tickets will be on sale at the door.
