Local man found lost on RJK campus

Sept. 29, 2016

On Thursday, Sept. 29 at approximately 12:05 p.m., an elderly gentleman from our community wandered onto the Robert J. Kaiser Middle School campus and said he was lost. Members from the district’s security team promptly escorted him off of the property and helped him find his way.

Please be assured that this incident has nothing to do with the social media rumors that began to circulate late last night about a threat regarding gang members who are dressed as clowns.

District officials have been made aware about the discussion on social media and despite allegations, no individual wearing a clown costume were tackled or found outside any of our buildings.

The district would like all staff, students, parents and community members to know that the Monticello Village Police Department has been notified about the social media rumors. Investigators are looking into the alleged threats, which are not believed to be credible. We ask the community to continue to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity or content posted on social media to law enforcement.

It is important to note that each school building has a security team that monitors and observes its perimeters every day.
Any person found to be causing the disruption of school activities will be subject to disciplinary consequences in accordance with the Monticello Central School District Code of Conduct and Board of Education policies.
