Propane tank turned off as a precaution; all other fixtures deemed fine

Aug 11, 2016

On Wednesday, Aug. 10, Monticello Central School District Director of Facilities and Operations John Travis shut off the gas valve in the Monticello High School during a routine propane supply and pressure test.

During the pressure test, the district’s propane supplier discovered a small leak in the HS 100 wing which was immediately addressed. As a precaution, students and staff were temporarily moved to an alternate location. No one was injured or in any danger. Although not considered to pose a threat, there was a slight odor in the building.

Parents who have any questions are asked to contact Assistant Superintendent for Business Lisa Failla at 845-794-7700, ext. 70525 or lfailla@k12mcsd.net.
