A message from the Ethelbert B. Crawford library:
"Each Monday this summer, beginning July 17, Ethelbert B.
Crawford Public Library in Monticello will host a summer
book club just for tweens. Kids ages 8-12 are invited to
join us at 12 p.m. each Monday for a unique book discussion.
Bring whatever book you are currently reading, or even just
your favorite book. This book club is a great way to learn
about genres or titles that you might have overlooked.
Refreshments will be served at each meeting.
Due to space limitations, this program does require
registration. To register, stop by the children’s room at
the library or call 845-794-4660 ext. 5.
Beginning Tuesday, July 18 the Ethelbert B. Crawford Public
Library in Monticello will celebrate hosting a Stop-Motion
Animation Workshop for Teens. Throughout the summer we will
be working together to learn all of the aspects of movie
making. We will storyboard, develop characters, build sets,
record dialog, shoot the movie, and edit our movie into a
final product that can be shown at our end-of-summer Film
Festival. Teens will also have the opportunity to work on
their own short films which can be shown at the film
festival too. Join us on Wednesday, August 16th, at 6:30 pm
to see their finished films and celebrate the hard work and
dedication of the teens involved with the project.
This event is for teens ages 12-18 and will take place at
4:30pm every Tuesday between July 18th and August 15th.
