Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary School celebrates Better Speech and Hearing Month

speech poster winners Speech and language therapy students at Kenneth L. Rutherford were invited to submit a poster illustrating how speech and language therapy helps to improve particular skills, and illustrating what working on that skill looks like as part of the school's celebration of “Better Speech and Hearing Month.” The three winners of the poster contest are: Madelyn Cavello, Kaedon Milton, Christopher Spears.

The American Speech-Language Hearing Association recognizes each May as “Better Hearing & Speech Month” (BHSM). According to the organization’s website, this month is an opportunity to raise awareness about communication disorders and the role of ASHA members in providing life-altering treatment. This year’s theme is “Communication: the key to connection.”
