Parent, student and coach volunteers sought to serve on district Athletic Council

July 7, 2016

The Monticello Central School District is presently seeking two parents, two coaches and three student-athletes who are interested in serving on the district’s newly formed Athletic Council.

The Athletic Council will be comprised of district administrators, board of education members, the Athletic Director, parents, coaches and student-athletes.

Recently, the Monticello Board of Education authorized the establishment of the Athletic Council, which will work to enhance the total student-athlete experience by fostering a positive student image, expanding school and community public relations, sponsoring and participating in school and community service activities, improving communication, and promoting school spirit.

• Make decisions on actionable items pertaining to the program;
• Act as representatives for the larger group in which they represent (parent, coach or student-athlete); and
• Help promote the council’s efforts.

Council members will be required to attend meetings bi-monthly. The first meeting will place on Wednesday, August 10 at 5 p.m. at the Monticello High School, 39 Breakey Ave.
