KLR students visit the library

Students at Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary School got a hands-on look at why libraries are such an integral part of any community. Last month, the third-grade class took a trip to the new Elthelbert B. Crawford Public Library where Youth Services Librarian Joanna Goldfarb gave students a tour of the new facility.

Students learned about the different ways that they may borrow books and other materials, and took home paperwork to register for their very own library card. The students had lunch in the community room, and visited the children’s section of the library and the “Kids Center,” a popular destination for children to play games and work on homework.
