Student-led conferences enable students to reflect on their academic progress

Feb. 5, 2016

On Wednesday, Feb. 10 and Thursday, Feb 11, Robert J Kaiser Middle School will host student-led conferences. The conferences will take place from 6-8:30 p.m. on Feb 10 and from 7:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Each student has been assigned to a particular time slot and parents and guardians have been notified of their child’s scheduled conference via a letter home. Classes will not be in session for middle school students only on Thursday, Feb. 11.

Student Led Conferences are an innovative and exciting opportunity for your child to take responsibility and ownership for their learning. Students will be responsible for answering parental questions and concerns as well as explaining their portfolios and academic grades. Homeroom teachers have prepared each middle school child for these sessions and we hope that all stakeholders find the experience overwhelmingly positive.

Complimentary transportation is available to and from the conference. If you are in need of transportation, or if you have not received the date and time of your child’s conference, please contact our middle school’s guidance department at (845) 796-3058.
