Monticello Central School District welcomes new Human Resources Specialist

On Nov. 17 the Monticello Central School District welcomed Anna Wasson to its administrative team as a Human Resources Specialist.

For the past seven years, Mrs. Wasson has had a leading role at Sandvik, Inc, a global manufacturing company, with an office in Fair Lawn, NJ. She initially worked in a support role, assisting hiring managers with all of their recruitment needs. Most recently, she was responsible for a variety of training initiatives including implementing a new training database. Anna Wasson

In her new position, Mrs. Wasson looks forward to forming strong relationships with the students, staff and community.

“It’s really a new world, coming from a corporate environment to a public school,” Mrs. Wasson said. I’m excited to learn about each facet of the school district – students, faculty, everything. I’m hoping to utilize the skills I’ve amassed over my career to impact the school district. I want the people here to think of HR as something that is positive—as it should be.”

As Human Resource Specialist, Mrs. Wasson will focus primarily on acting as the liaison between teachers, staff and school administrators, including providing information on employee benefits and activities, verifying employment and helping district employees with employment-related paperwork.

“Mrs. Wasson brings a wonderful set of specialized skills to our administrative team,” said Catherine Parsons, Assistant Superintendent of Business. I’m confident that she will help streamline all of the HR processes for our faculty and staff.”

Mrs. Wasson is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and has a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute.

A New Jersey native, Mrs. Wasson earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of New Jersey and Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from Rutgers’s University. She currently resides in Montgomery, NY with her husband Garrett and daughter, Colette. She is passionate about traveling, particularly to the Mediterranean. Her favorite place to visit is Santorini Island in Greece.
