Community members invited to attend athletic banner dedication

Oct. 6, 2015

The Monticello Board of Education and Athletic Department will celebrate the unveiling of 27 banners honoring its athletic championship wins during the next board meeting Thursday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. in the Robert J. Kaiser Middle School cafeteria.

Earlier this year, the district purchased 25 banners which indicate recent team, divisional, sectional, and scholar state championships.

The district will also accept and dedicate two wrestling championship banners which were kindly donated by the Doherty family.

“We are so appreciative of the generosity and support of our community members,” said Athletic Director James Ryan. “The beauty of the banners reflects our schools’ pride and will have a positive impact on the entire school community for many years to come.”

There will be time during the meeting for athletes and community members to admire the banners and take photographs.

Following the unveiling, the four banners will be hung for display in the Monticello High School gymnasium.

For more information about the banners, please contact James Ryan at 845-794-8840, ext. 10995.
