Monticello High School Spirit Week will culminate with homecoming dance

Monticello High School is celebrating Spirit Week! Five days of fun, activities and athletic events are set for Monday, Oct. 19 through Friday, Oct. 23.

Monticello students will also choose the members of the 2015 homecoming court. Students can place their votes for king and queen (grade 12) as well as the full court at the Homecoming Dance. Nominations/Sign-ups are in the Main Office.

Students may purchase tickets for the Oct. 23 homecoming dance during lunches for $5 per person. Parents are invited to watch the announcement of the homecoming court at the Homecoming Football game on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 1:30 p.m. Prior to the Homecoming game, all are welcome to attend our Powder Puff Football Game at 9:30 a.m. on the field.
During Spirit Week and Pride Weekend, all students and staff showcase their pride in their school, student-athletes and community.

Activities include a pep rally and the homecoming dance. Here is a list of activities:

Monday, Oct. 19:
• Patriotic Day

Tuesday, Oct. 20:
• Hippie Day

Wednesday, Oct. 21:
• 1980’s Day
• Class hallway decoration contest begins

Thursday, Oct. 22:
• Class Color Day (staff and faculty wear black and white; seniors wear purple; juniors wear green; sophomores yellow; and freshmen wear pink)
• Class hallway decoration contest continues

Friday, Oct. 23:
• Blue and White Day
• Hallway contest winners announced
• Pep Rally at approximately 1 p.m. in the Monticello High School gymnasium
• Homecoming Dance (semi-formal) at 7 p.m. in the Monticello High School cafeteria
