Amber Alert issued for four children in Monticello

Anyone with information asked to call sullivan county sheriff's office

On Thursday, March 19, 2015, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office activated the state Amber Alert and is investigating an alleged child abduction that occurred on Dom Drive in Monticello around 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 18.

The alert said four children were abducted: 5-year-old Gabriella Torres, a kindergarten student at Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary; 4-year-old Jacob Esquilin; 2-year-old Jionni Torres and 6-month-old Assata Mari Franklin.

According to the alert, police are looking for two suspects, Tina Esquilin and Alfred Franklin Jr., who fled with the children following a court order removing the children from their custody. Esquilin, a Hispanic female, is approximately 27 years old, with black hair and brown eyes. She is approximately five feet, four inches tall and weighs about 169 pounds. Franklin Jr., a black male, is approximately 30 years old with black hair and brown eyes. He is approximately six feet, one inch tall and weighs about 220 pounds.

Anyone with information on this alleged abduction is asked to call the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office at (866) NYS-AMBER or dial 911 to provide further information on a report or sighting.

The Monticello Central School District will provide updates when more information is available.
