Nominations are being accepted for 2015 Hall of Distinction

Deadline date for nomination packet is april 15, 2015

Nominations are currently being accepted for inductees to the Monticello Central School District Hall of Distinction (HOD). For candidates to be considered for selection into the HOD, a nomination packet must be submitted in its entirety by the deadline date of April 15, 2015.

It is the responsibility of the nominator to provide a comprehensive portfolio of evidence to support the nomination. Information to support the nomination may include, but is not limited to: achievements/awards; examples of how the individual serves as a role model; contributions made to society; and letters of recommendation. The committee shall consider the candidate’s scholarship, achievement, character, leadership and service to the community.

Eligible candidates include:
• Graduates/attendees of Monticello Central School District. Graduates must have graduated 15 years prior to nomination.
• Former faculty or staff
• Former Board Member

Fifteen distinguished individuals have been inducted into the HOD since the initiative was established in 2013.The Hall of Distinction is located in the lobby outside the Arnold Packer Hughs Auditorium at Monticello High School.

The 2014 honorees were Gene D. Block, Hon. Josephine Victoria Finn, Joan Rhulen Farrow, Eugene D. Nesin and Jacob “Jack” Sharoff. Harrison “Slam” Allen, Lawrence Henry Cooke, David Kaufman and Roland Paramore were among the 10 inaugural inductees in 2013. “We hope to inspire our children to work harder and reach their goals by showcasing wonderful examples of Monticello excellence through the Hall of Distinction,” Superintendent of Schools Tammy Mangus said. “Our current inductees serve as role models of how a strong work ethic, goal setting and connections to the community can lead to success. We look forward to selecting our next round of inductees in the spring.”

The HOD committee, which is comprised of various stakeholders in the Monticello community, is charged with perusing applications of potential inductees to ensure they meet the criteria for inclusion in the HOD. 2015 recipients will be selected by the committee in the spring of 2015 and honored at a reception in the fall of 2015.
