RJK Middle School backpack program provides nutritious foods for students

students receive food on a weekly basis, donations requested

January 27, 2015

With the support of local businesses and community members, the Middle School Backpack Program is now up and running. The program's purpose is to provide nutritious food to students on a weekly basis, especially over weekends and holidays when resources may not be readily available.

The following individuals and businesses have been instrumental in helping the school district get the program implemented in the middle school, and the district would like to extend our thanks to them for being so generous, and for caring about our students as much as we do: backpack program

"On behalf of the district, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It is a continuous job to keep our program running, but we will not give up! We want to do everything in our power to ensure members of our community have sufficient food," Program Coordinator Deena Tanzman said.

Donations of non-perishable items are always welcome. Please call Mrs. Tanzman at 845-796-3058, ext 3, if you have any questions regarding the Backpack Program.
