MCSD officials to hold budget and safety community conversations

UPDATE: January 26, 2015

MCSD officials will be holding Budget and Safety Community Conversations at locations throughout the district in February. These listening sessions will give community members the opportunity to hear firsthand about key issues impacting the school district and our community.

  • Sessions have been scheduled from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on the following dates:

    TBD (cancelled due to inclement weather) - Forestburgh Fire Company, 2539 New York 42, Forestburgh*

    Tuesday, February 3 - Monticello Fire Department, 23 Richardson Avenue, Monticello*

    Thursday, February 5 - Kauneonga Lake Fire District, 3574 State Route 55, Kauneonga Lake

    Monday, February 9 - Rock Hill Fire Department, 61 Glen Wild Road, Rock Hill
       
    *Rescheduled due to inclement weather.

Superintendent of Schools, Tammy Mangus, and School Business Administrator, Denise Cedeira, will speak for approximately 45 minutes about the budget process.

Budget topics will include:

  • How does a school district develop annual budgets?
  • Fund balance
  • Current and future initiatives

Following a brief break, Assistant Superintendent of School Administration, Catherine Parsons, will facilitate a discussion focused on the district’s building safety and security plans.
