Aspiring Young Musicians, Nesin Children's Chorus to perform concert

Concert at 3 p.m. on sunday, may 18 at nesin theater

The Nesin Theatre will be alive with music featuring the Nesin Young Children’s Chorus, the Nesin Children’s Chorus and the Aspiring Young Musicians. The concert will take place on Sunday, May 18 at 3 p.m. in the Eugene D. Nesin Theater for the Performing Arts, 22 St. John Street, Monticello.

The chorus includes children from Sullivan, Orange and Ulster Counties in Kindergarten - 9th grade and is under the direction of Amy Phillips. The Aspiring Young Musicians, under the direction of Andrew Trombley and Akiko Hosoi, features student pianists, vocalists and string players. Students will demonstrate their skills as soloists and chamber ensemble musicians.

The Children’s Chorus is made possible by a generous donation from Lloyd and Sandra Nesin-Plafker. The Aspiring Young Musicians Program is supported in part by The Eugene D. Nesin Memorial Scholarship, local businesses and individual donors.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.nesinculturalarts.org. Due to the anticipated response to this event, tickets may not be available at the door. The suggested donation is $10 for adults and students are free with a school ID.
