October 22, 2013

Cooke Students At Fire Safety AssemblyStudents at George L. Cooke Elementary School are learning about Fire Safety during the month of October. All of the students, kindergarten thru fifth grade, were treated to an assembly that the Monticello Volunteer Firefighters facilitated. The assembly showed the students how a fire fighter would look when they enter a burning building. They also learned three very important words; Stop, Drop, and Roll.

Kindergarten and first grade students were treated to a visit to the Monticello Fire House. There, they learned more about some of the tools that the firefighters use, they saw the different kinds of trucks that are used, and toured the fire station.
