LEE NATION Denim Day raises over $300 for Breast Cancer AwarenessDenim Day Photo

October 8, 2013 - The RJK Middle School faculty and staff recently participated in the LEE NATION Denim Day, a benefit for the American Cancer Society. On October 4th, faculty and staff who donated $5 were able to come to work in their favorite jeans, along with something pink, in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. The fundraiser was held in honor of breast cancer survivor and RJK Middle School attendance officer and event co-chair Kim Rock.

More than $300 was raised and will help to fund essentials like breast screenings, travel costs for patients and toward funding a new cancer research center.

"We are fighting this fight in memory of those who have lost their lives," said co-chair Deena Tanzman, "and the survivors who are fighting so hard to regain their health. Together we can make a difference."
