New Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Appointed: Tammy Mangus

Assistant Superintendent Tammy Mangus with secretary Mary Ryan BucholzAt its July 26 meeting, the Monticello Central School District Board of Education appointed Tammy Mangus as the new assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. Ms. Mangus will officially begin in her new position on August 24 at a salary of $125,000.

“Through collaboration and hard work, my focus will be on moving every student forward and helping each one of them find success,” said Ms. Mangus. “I come prepared with a varied knowledge base and look forward to supporting the needs of the MCSD staff.”

Ms. Mangus currently serves as the pre-kindergarten through grade 12 principal for the Roscoe Central School District, where she was instrumental in redesigning the organizational structure and building a data-driven decision-making environment. Prior to Roscoe, she worked as a secondary English teacher in the Chautauqua Lake Central School District, Maple Grove High School and the Westfield Academy Central Schools in upstate NY.

Ms. Mangus received her certificate in educational leadership and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Gannon University in Erie, PA. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English / Adolescent Education from SUNY Fredonia. She is certified by NY State as a School District Administrator and an English teacher, grades 7-12.

Ms. Mangus lives in Roscoe with her husband, Justin, and their two children, Calvin and Maizi.
