Students raise money for American Heart Association

June 6, 2013

During the month of May, students in grades 3-5 participated in Jump Rope 4 Heart during their physical education classes. This is a fundraising-based unit where students learned about community service and volunteering through fundraising for the American Heart Association. The students focused on jump roping activities and stations since jump roping is a great cardiovascular activity that strengthens the heart while being fun. Because of their hard work, the students at Rutherford raised $1,052.47 for the American Heart Association.
