Students help the museum guideFifth graders visit Harness Racing Museum

April 3, 2013

On March 14, fifth graders from Cooke Elementary School visited the Goshen Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame, where they learned about the American Standard bred horse and the sport of harness racing. The lesson illustrated concepts in mathematics, history, science, language arts and more.

The students viewed artifacts dating from harness racing’s beginnings to modern times, hands-on and interactive exhibits and a 3-D harness racing simulator. They also watched the horses train at the Goshen Historic Track located directly behind the museum.
