International Food Fair Celebrates Global Cuisine

April 29, 2013

Attendees had the opportunity to sample culinary specialties from around the globe at this year's International Food Fair held at Monticello High School on April 24.

The high school Family/Consumer Sciences and Foreign Language departments spearheaded the event, which included an array of foods such as Arepas and other Spanish dishes, German potatoes, garlic knots, Asian dumplings with sauce, kartoffelpuffers with homemade applesauce, ziti, turkey tetrazzini, rice pilaf, chocolate covered Oreo balls and American cherry cheesecake.

Participating students invited their parents for dinner so they could showcase their culinary skills. Monticello's cafeteria manager, Chef Andy, helped bake, cook and serve the food.
