RJK Builders Club donates toys to United Way

December 18, 2012

Builders Club members and Kiwanis liaisons with toys for United WayThe RJK Builders Club members recently took a trip to Walmart to purchase toys to donate to the United Way of Sullivan County. They were joined by Club Advisor Bill Ofelein and Kiwanis Club Liaisons Jane Sorensen and Sheila Lashinsky.

The members had loads of fun on the bus singing holiday songs and wearing their Christmas caps and reindeer antlers. When they arrived at Walmart, they invaded the toy department where everyone got to work picking out toys and games that toddlers and young children would enjoy; everything from Candy Land and toy trucks to dolls and stuffed animals, totaling more than $150. These items were purchased with money collected during various events hosted by the Builders Club.

The members were greeted warmly by United Way Chief Professional Officer Kaytee Warren, who thanked the children for their generous and thoughtful donation and said that these gifts will make many children in the county very happy during this holiday season.
