November 30, 2012

Fourth graders read to younger peersAlexandria Romero and Elana Woodard, students in Dawn Weiss and Joy Janusas’ classes, are hardworking fourth graders who show their enthusiasm for reading by sharing good books with first grade students in Sara Kozachuk’s class.

Alexandria and Elana read several books to the younger children, and then collaborated to create interesting activities that related to the texts.

During their first visit, the girls read about the four seasons, and then created an elaborate seasonal activity for the first graders. At their next visit, they shared a holiday book and assisted the first graders with a writing activity.
