KLR students learn about stranger danger, bullying

October 24, 2012

Officer Phil with students and one of his puppet friendsKLR students recently learned about stranger danger and bullying from Officer Phil of the Monticello Police Department. Officer Phil visited students along with his friends, Officer John Calvello and Rocco, the police dog.

With the use of magic, puppets, and student participation, Officer Phil covered various problems and their solutions in a fun way that children understand. Officer Phil reminded the students to, "Be a BUDDY not a BULLY!" He also stressed the importance of stranger danger.

Officer Phil suggests that children practice this catchy slogan, "If you don't know, don't go! Turn, yell and tell!" The children were given a workbook to take home to share with their family.
