Monticello Schools Assistant Superintendent for Learning Kenneth Newman Earns his DoctorateDr. Kenneth Newman

Monticello Central School District Assistant Superintendent for Student Learning Kenneth W. Newman, Sr. has received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from NOVA Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Dr. Newman has been with Monticello Schools for the past three years. During his tenure, he has been instrumental in ensuring the district’s readiness to implement the four key assurances under the Race to the Top initiative. These include aligning the district curriculum to the New York State Common Core Standards, coordinating data inquiry teams, and preparing for the new teacher and principal performance evaluations.

In addition, Dr. Newman was the driving force in establishing the “Monticello Celebrates Culture and Diversity” initiative, which was honored by the National Public Relations Association with a 2011 Golden Achievement Award.
