June 13, 2012

Aidan Dietz, a third grade student in Diana Hartman's class, and Michelle Lin, a third grade student in Christina Jurik's class, won first and second place, respectively, for the elementary level in a district-wide essay contest.

Many Cooke students participated in the essay contest, where they created essays answering the following questions: What is a community? Who makes up our community? What ties a community together? What divides it apart?

On June 7, both Aidan and Michelle were honored during the awards ceremony, held in the RJK cafeteria. Aidan won a four-week scholarship to Winston Day Camp, and Michelle won three tickets to see Big Time Rush at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.
