First graders visited by arboristMark Beamish

May 8, 2012

In honor of Arbor Day, first graders at Rutherford Elementary School welcomed Mark Beamish and his coworker, Tim Coalla, from Orange and Rockland Utilities.

Beamish is an arborist who came to teach the children about the life cycle of trees as well as provide many interesting facts about trees around the world.

His goal was to teach everyone about the importance of trees in our environment.

The students were delighted to receive saplings, crayons, coloring books and other goodies from O&R. Help our earth; plant a tree today!
