May 24, 2012

The end of the school year / prom season is a dangerous time for students who may celebrate a bit too much.

To help our children understand the deadly consequences of drinking and driving and texting and driving, school officials and community organizations partner annually to create a mock car accident designed to make students realize what could be the horrific consequences of their actions.

Utilizing a real crashed car, student actors worked with multiple local emergency response agency personnel to create a disturbing, real-life scene designed to depict a fatal crash.

Special thanks to the participating agencies which included the Monticello Fire Department, Monticello Police Department, Mobil Medic, the Coroner's Office and a funeral home.
