KLR Odyssey team competes at Regional Competition

The KLR Odyssey teamOn Saturday, March 10, a team of Rutherford fourth and fifth grade students headed to the Odyssey of the Mind Regional competition at Orange-Ulster BOCES. Odyssey of the Mind is an international program that challenges students to work together as a team and use their creativity to solve problems.

The students prepared for months to participate in the Odyssey of the Mind competition. This team worked together since October to build their team work skills, write a skit, make costumes and build the backdrops and props needed to solve their chosen problem.

The team consisted of seven students: Robert Bonnaci, Ashley Gettel, Emma Silverstein, Isabella Tagliamonti, Gabrielle Acosta-Herrera, Luciana Carvo and Aiden Johnson. They were coached by Ms. Schope and Ms. Rojas.

Although the team did not place at the Regional Competition, they are commended for their hard work and diligence. The team was recognized by the Town of Bethel Town Board on March 14.
