The Middle Wrinkle wins first place from American Scholastic Press Association

The Robert J. Kaiser Middle School’s literary-art magazine, the Middle Wrinkle, has won First Place with Special Merit from the American Scholastic Press Association. This is the second time the publication won the award.

The Middle Wrinkle is published three times a year. It is composed of art work, articles, poems, short stories and other genres of writing. All work in the Middle Wrinkle is written or drawn by the sixth, seventh and eighth grade students attending RJK.

The magazine scored 965/1000 points. The American Scholastic Press stated, “Your magazine shows the superior efforts of talented and creative editors, writers, artists, photographers, layout/graphics designers, staff members and advisors.”

Art Advisor Elizabeth Bassett and Advisor Debora Bausenwein review each of the suggestions provided by the American Scholastic Press and incorporate them into the magazine in order to improve the quality of the Middle Wrinkle.
