is a nationwide club of high school and college students that is
affiliated with the American Cancer Society. The MHS chapter was
formed in 2005.
Student Coordinators:
Monika Zalewska and Samantha Berger.
Advisor:
Ms. Joyce Kocsis
Membership:
All students, faculty,
staff, and parents of students at Monticello High School are welcome
to join.
Goals:
•
The club is dedicated to the goal of
eliminating cancer. We do this by volunteering for the
American Cancer Society and supporting the programs of the American
Cancer Society. This club has established a relationship with our
local chapter American Cancer Society. Our contact person is Tina
Eckhert. This partnership will give students access to educational
and support materials.
•
Establishing advocacy programs
•
Promoting Cancer Awareness and prevention
•
The club also support students who
have lost loved ones to cancer and
will give students the opportunity to help
cancer patients and their families in our community.
•
Raising money through American Cancer Society
approved programs and donating all proceeds to the Society.
We meet monthly and hold
fund-raising endeavors to raise money for the American Cancer
Society.
Relay for Life: MHS
Teens Against Cancer will be participating in this year's American
Cancer Society Relay for Life on June 3-4 at the Grahamsville
Fairgrounds.
