MHS remembers 9/11 attacks 10 years later
On
September 9, Monticello High School Principal George Vanderzell led
moments of silence during the morning hours of 8:46, 9:37, 10:03 and
10:46 a.m. to honor the 2,977 Americans and others who lost
their lives during the September 11th attack 10 years ago.
In addition, Dennis Brown, Mary Jean Desocio and Toni Carnesi Montemurro created an honoring atmosphere in the Student Support Suite in Room 208 to honor the 343 NYC Firemen, 23 NYC Policemen and the 37 Port Authority Police and their families who willingly gave their lives to serve others on that tragic day.
Students and staff visited and shared their own personal experiences.
