Employment opportunities in the Monticello School District

Fingerprinting

New York State has instituted a new law, requiring all persons seeking employment in a school district must be fingerprinted, have background checks and be issued a clearance by the State Education Department prior to starting work. New employees who have not completed this process in another school district must request a fingerprinting packet at the Monticello School District Office immediately upon returning all paperwork.

A fee of $74 is charge and must be forwarded in the form of a Certified Check or Money Order made payable to the “New York State Education Department.”

The fingerprinting process takes about three weeks to complete, and it is therefore important that prospective employees complete this process as soon as possible. At the present time, fingerprinting is available by appointment at the locations listed below.

Fingerprinting locations
(Please call ahead for an appointment)

  • Police Station –

  •  District Transportation Department  –

Fingerprinting packets
Contact the District Office, (845) 794-7700, for a fingerprinting packet, which consists of two fingerprint cards, fingerprint instructions and a consent form.

After you have been fingerprinted, please return all completed information to the personnel office.
