7:0 Upon Motion to go into Executive Session by Robert Rosengard,
seconded by Tara Buckstad at 6:05 p.m. to discuss the medical,
financial, credit or employment history of a particular person or
corporation, or matters leading to the appointment, employment,
promotion, demotion, discipline, suspension, or removal of a
particular person or corporation.

Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent

C.1.a. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Jeffrey Devine to the position of Tenure Area, Social
Studies, Step 1, at a salary of $39,422 pro-rated, per year,
effective September 1, 2007. New Position.
C.1.b. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Lisa Darbee to the position of Tenure Area, Social
Studies, Step 1, at a salary of $40,133 pro-rated, per year,
effective September 1, 2007. Replacing Mark Rokeach
C.1.c. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Karen Deans to the position of Tenure Area, Science,
Step 1, at a salary of $41,418 pro-rated, per year, effective
September 1, 2007. New Position.
C.1.d. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Jack Etter to the position of Tenure Area, Science,
Step 10, at a salary of $52,335 pro-rated, per year, effective
September 1, 2007. New Position.
C.1.e. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Sadie Garrett to the position of Tenure Area, Special
Education, Step 1, at a salary of $38,687 pro-rated, per year,
effective September 1, 2007. Replacing Krystal Herbert.
C.1.f. RESIGNATION
Eline Hill, Librarian at the High School, wishes to resign for the
purpose of retirement, effective July 1, 2008. Eline Hill is
entitled to all benefits of the Monticello Teacher’s
Association/Monticello Central School District Negotiate Agreement
for which she is eligible.
C.1.g. RESIGNATION
Judith M. Lynn, Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary School, Third Grade
Teacher, wishes to resign effective July 1, 2007.
C.1.h. RESIGNATION
Linda Van Norman, Monticello’s School District’s Music Teacher,
wishes to resign for the purpose of retirement effective February 1,
2009. Linda Van Norman is entitled to all benefits of the Monticello
Teacher’s Association/Monticello Central School District Negotiate
Agreement for which she is eligible.
C.1.i. RESIGNATION
Krystal Herbert, George L. Cooke Elementary School Special Education
Teacher, wishes to resign effective July 1, 2007.
C.1.j. RESIGNATION
Christina Rhodes, Monticello Central School District’s Accountant
wishes to resign effective July 6, 2007.
C.1.k. RESIGNATION
Anibal Cruz, Jr., Maintenance Mechanic, wishes to resign effective
June 22, 2007.
C.1.l. LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Wendy L. McCauliff, Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary Art Teacher
requests a Child Care Leave effective September 4, 2007 to January
2008. Included in her request, after fulfilling the 40 days of
accumulated paid sick time, the remaining leave of absence will be
unpaid, using the Family Medical Leave Act.
C.1.m. TEMPORARY APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Marilyn Arriaga to the position of Long Term
Secretary Substitute at a salary of $9.00 per hour for 7 ½ hours per
day, pro-rated, for a probationary period of n/a with benefits as
provided to be effective June 27, 2007 to August 3, 2007. Replacing
Laura McAndrew.
C.1.n. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Lyndsey Lentini to the position of Tenure Area,
Elementary Education 1-6, Step 1, at a salary of $40,683 pro-rated,
per year, effective September 1, 2007. New Position.
C.1.o. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Susan P. Couture to the probationary position of
Library Media Specialist, Tenure Area, Library Science K-12, Step 5,
at a salary of $44,843, pro-rated, per year, effective September 1,
2007 year. New Position
C.1.p. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Timothy M. Buckley to the probationary position of
Special Tenure Area, Music K-12, Step 1, at a salary of $38,687,
pro-rated, per year, effective September 1, 2007 year. New Position.

C.1.q. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Christine A. Wylie to the probationary position of
Special Tenure Area, Reading K-12, Step 15, at a salary of $58,604,
pro-rated, per year, effective September 1, 2007 year. New Position.
C.1.r. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Marigrace Hartman to the probationary position of
Tenure Area, Special Education K-12, Step 6, at a salary of $45,851,
pro-rated, per year, effective September 1, 2007 year. Replacing
Tracey Moore.
C.1.s. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Regina Kaufmann to the probationary position of
Tenure Area, Art K-12, Step 1, at a salary of $38,687, pro-rated,
per year, effective September 1, 2007 year. Leave replacement for
Wendy McCauliff.
C.1.t. APPOINTMENT
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Carolyn Price to the probationary position of Tenure
Area, Elementary 1-6, Step 1, at a salary of $38,687, pro-rated, per
year, effective September 1, 2007 year. Replacing Judith Lynn.

Agenda was amended to add D.2.c.
8:0 D.1.a. ADOPT RESOLUTION CONCERNING STUDENT 62807
Upon motion by Robert Rosengard, seconded by Liza Glick, the Board
of Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent adopted
the Resolution Concerning Student 62807.
8:0 D.1.b. RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE PROMOTION OF GLADYS P. BAXTER
TO ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT OF BUSINESS AND SUPPORT SERVICES. Upon
motion by Richard Feller, seconded by Robert Rosengard, the Board of
Education upon the recommendation of the Superintendent approved the
Resolution Concerning the Promotion of Gladys P. Baxter to Assistant
Superintendent of Business and Support Services. Be it resolved that
the resignation of Gladys Baxter as Business Manager, effective
close of business June 30, 2007 is hereby approved. Be it further
resolved that Gladys Baxter, SBA certified is hereby appointed to
the tenure area of Assistant Superintendent of Business and Support
Services with a probationary period commencing July 1, 2007 and
ending June 30, 2008. The salary for this position will be $123, 000
per year.
7:1 D.1.c. APPOINTMENT OF EDWARD ESCOBAR AS DIRECTOR OF PUPIL
PERSONNEL SERVICES
Upon motion by Robert Rosengard, seconded by Richard Feller, the
Board of Education, resolved, that the Board of Education of the
Monticello Central School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the
Education Law and in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the
Board of Regents, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of
Schools, does hereby appoint Edward Escobar to the position of
Tenure Area, Director of Pupil Personnel Services, at a salary of
$114,000, pro-rated, per year, effective July 1, 2007 to July 1,
2010.
