SPECIAL
BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING – JULY 27, 2006
Location: RJK Middle School Library – 5:00 P.M.
ROLL CALL A Present: Tara Buckstad, Richard Feller, Vivian Liff,
Eugene Nesin, John Pavese, Robert Rosengard, Alyce Van Etten
Absent: Jacob Billig, Robert Stewart, Jesse Campanaro
Also Present: Eileen P. Casey, Superintendent of Schools
Dr. Patrick Michel, Superintendent Designee
President Alyce Van Etten called the meeting to order at 5:02 P.M.
QUESTIONS & COMMENTS B Mrs. Yvonne Housman asked if the Board has
decided upon a course of action to replace Board Member John Pavese
whose resignation was accepted at the July 20 Board Meeting. Mrs.
Van Etten responded that the Board would be discussing the options
for filling this vacancy at the August 24 Board of Education
Meeting.

Upon motion by Richard Feller and seconded by Robert Rosengard, the
board unanimously approved all personnel appointments:
RESIGNATIONS Mr. Christopher Corwin, High School Technology Teacher,
wishes to resign effective August 9, 2006.
Dr. Patrick Michel wishes to resign from his position as Assistant
Superintendent in order to accept the following:
Superintendent Designee – effective July 1, 2006
Acting Superintendent – effective September 1, 2006
Superintendent of Schools – effective October 18, 2006
APPOINTMENTS Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello
Central School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education
Law and in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of
Regents, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools,
does hereby appoint Sue Glantz to a probationary position in the
Academic Tenure Area – English, effective September 1, 2006 to
September 1, 2009, at a salary of $41,972, replacing Barry McDonald.
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Carolyn Joyner to a probationary position in the
Special Subject Tenure Area – Education of Children with
Handicapping Conditions, effective September 25, 2005 to September
25, 2007*, at a salary of $50,798, replacing Linda Kenny. *Two year
tenure period applies.
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Rafael Alberto Marquez to a probationary position as
Assistant High School Principal, effective August 25, 2006 to August
25, 2009, at a salary of $89,000, replacing Arleene Siegel-Lerner.
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Leanna Smith to a probationary position in the
Elementary Tenure Area, effective September 1, 2006 to September 1,
2009, at a salary of $40,921, replacing Kathy Widmann.
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Harold Tighe to a probationary position in the
Academic Tenure Area – Science, effective September 1, 2006 to
September 1, 2008*, at a salary of $57,734, new position. *Two year
tenure period applies.
APPOINTMENT OF ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT 7:0 Upon motion by Richard
Feller and seconded by Vivian Liff, the Board unanimously approved
the following:
Resolved, that the Board of Education of the Monticello Central
School District, pursuant to Section 3012 of the Education Law and
in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents,
upon the recommendation of the Superintendent of Schools, does
hereby appoint Kathleen Pagano-Fuller to the probationary position
of Assistant Superintendent, effective July 31, 2006 to July 31,
2009, at a salary of $112,500, replacing Dr. Patrick Michel.
ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT C1b

On a motion by Robert Rosengard and seconded by John Pavese, the
Board unanimously approved the attached Terms and Conditions of
Employment for Kathleen Pagano-Fuller effective July 31, 2006
through June 30, 2007.

ADJOURNMENT G On a motion by Robert Rosengard and seconded by John
Pavese, the Board unanimously approved a motion to adjourn at 5:15
P.M.
