MONTICELLO CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
Board of Education Goals
2007-2008

Adopted December 6, 2007

1. The Board and Superintendent will create and adopt for the 2008-2009 School Year an integrated board self-evaluation and Superintendent Evaluation program based upon current research and best practice. The Board will implement a process designed to promote a reflective conversation between Board members and their superintendent. This collaborative approach will be for the purpose of improving the performance of the superintendent, governance team, and the school system so that student achievement increases.

2. The Board and administration will monitor the impact of the various district restructuring initiatives on student achievement. The Board is committed to promoting, supporting and investing in the positive educational trends of a “flat world” and global economy ensuring that all our students will be better prepared to meet the expectations required for college, or the demands of the global work force. Some examples are College in the Classroom and the International Baccalaureate.

3. The Board will insure that the program of staff development is aligned with the curriculum and is positively effecting student achievement.

4. The Board of Education will continue its efforts to strengthen school-community cooperation. For all constituent groups we will strive to achieve excellence through trust and open communication.
