Summer School
Registration
Registration for summer school takes place in the RJK Middle School Cafeteria
as follows:
- Monticello
District Students, Grades 6-12:
Monday, June 30: 8-11:30 a.m. and
1-3 p.m.
Since June 27 is set aside for MCSD students,
it is recommended that they register on that date.
- General
Registration/Non-district Students:
Tuesday, July 1: 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-3
p.m.
Wednesday, July 2: 8 a.m. - Noon
Tuition for each course is $200.
To register, a student must bring a letter from the home school
(signed by the principal or designee, guidance counselor)
stating required classes and immunization records. For Earth
Science, Biology or Chemistry verification of having met the
laboratory requirement are necessary. The Regents lab scores for
the Earth Science Performance Test are also necessary. Checks or
money orders are payable to the Monticello Central School
District. If child is not a local student, but you are claiming
residency status for tuition purposes, a copy of the latest
Monticello School tax receipt in the name of the parent or
guardian is also required.
In order to assure correct processing,
the following information is needed at registration:
home address and telephone number, local address and telephone
number, home school address telephone and fax numbers, emergency
name and contact number.

Students registering for exams must do so in person and have
positive photo identification.
REGISTRATION FEE:$50 per Regents or RCT Examination
TUITION FOR OUT-OF-DISTRICT STUDENT:$200 per course

Summer School Music
Lessons:
Monticello Central Schools offers students who are presently
playing a musical instrument in the band or orchestra free
private or small-group lessons. These lessons are
half an hour long, once a week and are taught by the
band/orchestra teachers in our school district during the Summer
School session. Students outside the school district are also
offered the opportunity to take lessons. The tuition rate for
these students is $150.00. For more information and an

Important
Information:
- There are 24 days of
instruction during Summer School.
There are no classes on Friday (except for Driver Education).
Students are expected to be on time for class each and everyday
in order to complete the required work and receive credit.
- Three (3) tardies to class
(arriving within the first 15 minutes) = one (1) absence.
- Lateness of 15 minutes or more
= one absence
- Smoking, drinking,
possession/use of drugs/alcohol, fighting, harassing others and
misbehaving on school property will not be tolerated.
Violators will be dealt with by school administrators and, when
appropriate, by the police. Violators may be dismissed from
Summer School as a consequence of repeated or serious rule
violations.
- You must provide your own
transportation to Summer School.
- No student may take more than
three (3) classes.
General Rules:
- Students not in class MUST
report to the library.
- NO visitors (including
siblings) are permitted in Summer School at any time.
- Grade reports (i.e.,
transcripts) are sent to the student’s home and to the student’s
home school. We do not provide any such information over the
phone.
