Monticello Central School District
announces the appointment of Ms. Kathleen Pagano-Fuller as the
Assistant Superintendent of Schools. She is filling the position
held by Dr. Patrick Michel, who is now the acting
superintendent, and subsequently will become the superintendent
upon the official retirement of Ms. Eileen Casey on October 18,
2006.
Prior to her appointment in Monticello, Ms. Pagano-Fuller worked
as the Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools and
Director of English Language Arts for the Greece Central School
District in upstate New York. In these roles, she was
fundamental in the development and implementation of district
enrichment programs such as “Odyssey of the Mind,”
“International Baccalaureate,” and the elementary level
“Signature Schools.” As a result of her dedication and strong
leadership, the district’s Balanced Literacy Program was just
recognized by the New York State English Council as a 2006
“Program of Excellence.”
“I am used to a large school district with a diverse population
and I understand its challenges,” expressed Ms. Pagano-Fuller.
“I am very excited about my new position and I am looking
forward to getting to know and work closely with the Monticello
students, parents, and community.”
Ms. Pagano-Fuller began her career in education 30 years ago as
a 6th grade social studies teacher. From that point, she worked
as a classroom teacher at various grade levels, as a reading
specialist, assistant principal, elementary school principal,
and as the director of a preK-12 English Language Arts program.
In her professional work, Ms. Pagano-Fuller has been
instrumental in establishing many new and innovative programs
within the different districts of her employment. One of her
strongest commitments has been to promote student literacy
through curriculum development along with the implementation of
research-based instructional practices through professional
development for all staff members.
In addition to her wide practical experience, Ms. Pagano-Fuller
has a strong educational background that includes a Master of
Science degree from SUNY Geneseo and five New York State
certifications as follows: School District Administrator, School
Administrator and Supervisor, Reading K-12, Elementary
Education, and Special Education. She has also received a number
of award recognitions such as SUNY Oswego’s “Readling Award” for
being a distinguished administrator graduate and a Delta Kappa
Gamma Society Scholarship.
Ms. Pagano-Fuller has been married to her husband, Ron, for 28
years and they have two daughters, Kelly and Rachel.
