Education/Dance Minor. I am currently working towards my M.M. in
Choral Conducting from Michigan State University

to fame? 2010 Gold with Distinction with the Monticello
HS Chamber Singers, SUNY Fredonia Class of 1958 Music Educators'
Scholarship, conducting opportunity at the 2007 NYSSMA Winter

What's your favorite part of your job?
Making good music with interested students.
Why did you become a music teacher?
I live for music and I wish to share that experience with young
minds.
Did you do anything else before you
became a music teacher? First and foremost, I was a
student. Along with that, I've taught and danced with
pre-professional/professional companies as well as worked as a
camp counselor.
In your opinion, why do you think music
education is important? Music is truly the international
language. It is adopted by many cultures and appreciated around
the world. It is also important to balance your "right brain"
attributes with your "left." The Arts immerse you in ideas and
attitudes that other areas cannot.
How has music influenced your life?
I don't view music as an influence on my life, I view it as my
life.
Who is your favorite musician?
Some favorite singers: Eden Espinosa, Shoshana Bean, David
Daniels, Imogen Heap. Some favorite composers: Byrd, Palestrina,
Bernstein, Britten, Panderecki, Whitacre, Barnum
What CD is in your CD player right now?
It usually alternates between "The Complete A Cappella Works of
Eric Whitacre" and "The Fame Monster" - Lady Gaga
What are your hobbies?
dance/choreography, eating, hanging out
What advice would you offer to an
aspiring musician? Love what you do.
