Panthers to take on Liberty Indians during Coaches vs. Cancer Classic

Alpine Skiing teams are tops in their division
Both the Boys and Girls Varsity Alpine Skiing teams have excelled in their division. The girls team won the Division I championship, while the boys took second place. Haley Heins is the Division I Girls champion and Ryan Heins is the Division I Boys co-champion. The Section XI Meet will be held February 14 at Hunter Mountain.

Sean Reuss to play football at University of Maine
Sean Reuss, tight end/defensive end for the Monticello High School varsity football team, has verbally committed to play at Division I-AA University of Maine and will receive a full scholarship worth about $45,000 annually. View the Times Herald-Record article
Boys Basketball finishes 2nd at Hawley Tournament
The boys basketball team defeated Western Wayne on Friday to advance to their third straight Hawley Rotary Tournament championship game at Wallenpaupack High School. The Panthers lost to Wallenpaupack on Saturday and finished in second place. MORE
World-renowned speaker visits Academy of Finance
On November 30, Dr. Peter Tarlow, a nationwide expert hired by Sullivan Renaissance to assist in enhancing Sullivan County, spoke to members of the Academy of Finance. Dr. Tarlow is a world-renowned speaker who lectures on current and future trends in the tourism industry, rural tourism, economic development, and issues of crime and terrorism. MORE
K-9 search at high school comes up clean
On November 29 at 12:30 p.m. a K-9 search was held at Monticello High School. During the search, the building was placed on lockdown, but class instruction time was not disturbed. Marra spoke at the 20th Annual National High School
Baseball Coaches Clinic in Raleigh, NC. Marra, a
physical education teacher, discussed base running during his
presentation, titled "Winning on the Bases." Marra is the
president of the NY State Baseball Coaches Association and
the High School Division I Chairman of the American Baseball
Coaches Association.

Bell Schedule and Letter Day Procedures

Specialist from the International Culinary School of New York City,
presented information on “Creative Careers,” as well as the myriad
of programs that the Art Institute has to offer to students in Pam
Sussman and Joyce Kocsis’s Family and Consumer Sciences classes. At
the end of the presentation, Mr. Fine had a culinary demonstration
set up and the students helped make a Chinese Noodle Salad, which
everyone enjoyed.

Blue and White Pep Rally
On October 14, the students at Monticello High School celebrated the culmination of Spirit week with a “Blue and White Pep Rally.”
Fall athletes were recognized at the rally and several teams displayed their agility at team challenges.
This rally was also the kick off for the high school homecoming events this past weekend.
