Meetings, forums and workshops are scheduled on a monthly basis, please check the district homepage or contact the EPIC Parent Center for updated information.

EPIC offers family activities throughout the school year. These activities may include but are not limited to parent workshops, family crafts, games, reading and math nights, etc. Pizza and drinks are served. Children are welcomed. Reservations are required by the Wednesday before by calling the EPIC Parent Center.

EPIC Every Person Influences Children / Toda Persona Influye en Los Ninos. The EPIC Parent Center at the Robert J. Kaiser Middle School offers pizza, family activities, parent discussion groups, open forums and recreation for children regularly.

The EPIC Center is eager to provide resources to parents and staff throughout the Monticello Central School District. This year, EPIC is sponsoring a series of parent workshops, open forums, family night activities, and continues to provide information about the latest research available on a wide range of youth-related topics.

Target audience: All Monticello Central School parents, care providers, and community members are welcome.

EPIC Parent Workshop, "Single Parenting" February 1, 6:15 p.m., Rutherford Elementary School

The goals of this workshop are as follows:

1. To examine the special strengths and challenges of single parenting.
2. To identify how parenting affects children.
3. To identify several support strategies and services for single parents and their children.

Join EPIC for an evening of tips and strategies that help support families. Healthy treats, bingo, crafts and story time provided for children. Light refreshments.

EPIC Parent Workshop, "Love Is A Powerful Vitamin," February 1, 6:30-8 p.m. in the RJK Middle School cafeteria

This workshop is designed for parents of students in grades 5 and 6. Discussions will include:

 - How to understand the power of love in a child's life,
 - How to teach children to give and receive love,
 - How to validate a parent's need for love and patience.

EPIC Seeks Donations for its new "Mini Holiday Shop"

If you have any new items you would like to donate or "re-gift" to the shop, EPIC Coordinator Robin LaFountain will be accepting donations throughout the year and storing them for next year's grand opening. For more information, please call her at 796-3058, ext. 20098.
