Monticello Central School District Tax Warrant Approved by the Board of Education
Tax Rates calculated for property owners in five towns

District residents should expect to receive their school property tax bill in the mail during the month of September.
In May 2011, residents approved the $77,444,932 budget for the 2011-2012 school year.
The 2011-2012 budget represents an increase of 1.92 percent over the 2010-2011 budget and projected a Tax Levy increase of 6.47 percent.
The final Tax Rate was determined in August and the Board of Education approved the tax warrant at its August 18 meeting.
The final Tax Rate increase for each town within the district is listed below:
Town of Bethel Tax Rate Increase is 4.99%
Town of Fallsburg Tax Rate increase is 4.56%
Town of Forestburgh Tax Rate increase is 12.62%
Town of Mamakating Tax Rate increase is 4.42%
Town of Thompson Tax Rate increase is 7.36%
Below is the projected dollar amount tax bill increase for a a home assessed at $100,000 based on the above percentages:
$100,000 home in the Town of Bethel will see a tax bill increase of approximately $132
$100,000 home in the Town of Fallsburgh will see a tax bill increase of approximately $126
$100,000 home in the Town of Mamakating will see a tax bill increase of approximately $115
$100,000 home in the Town of Thompson will see a tax bill increase of approximately $142
Since homes in the Town of Forestburgh have not been reassessed in many years, their tax rate increase is based on a home assessed at $20,000.
$20,000 home in the Town of Forestburgh will see a tax bill increase of approximately $398
