ESL students celebrate at annual picnic
On June 15, the members of the ESL Department, or English as a Second Language, held their annual picnic at the DeHoyos park in Monticello.
The picnic was well attended by the ESL students and their families. The ESL staff was on hand to answer parents' questions and also to visit with the families and students.
The picnic had an international flair, and guests ate food from China, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Egypt and of course, America!
One of the highlights of the picnic was a performance by the group, "May" who performed the Merengue for the crowd. The young ladies are participants in the Migrant Education Program which includes RJK 8th grader Montserrrat Ramirez.
