Monticello Schools is seeking a representative for the Sullivan County BOCES Board of Education

The Monticello Schools Board of Education is requesting letters of interest and resumes from individuals who would like to volunteer to serve as Monticello’s representative on the Sullivan County BOCES Board of Education - due to the untimely passing of Edward Furchak. Please submit your information directly to Monticello Superintendent of Schools Dr. Patrick Michel at 237 Forestburgh Road, Monticello, NY 12701 no later than Friday, Jan. 22, 2010. Resumes will be reviewed by the Board of Education and finalists will be interviewed by the BOE or a Board subcommittee prior to a formal nomination.

Please be advised that as a Board representative, a time commitment is necessary. This includes attendance at monthly meetings and active participation on various committees. Part of the commitment will involve budget development and oversight of BOCES programs and facilities. Presently, BOCES is considering a large capital project to address student needs.
