*Public Notice* regarding Monticello School District's Contract for Excellence 2009

June 2009

Monticello is one of dozens of school districts across New York State designated as a high-needs district. As a result of this classification, the district received an increase in state aid in the 07-08 and 08-09 school years. The state mandates that this aid be spent within very specific guidelines. The district is required to create a Contract for Excellence (C4E) which explains exactly where and how the money is to be spent. As part of our requirements as a C4E district, we must spend a portion of our state aid, specifically $2,920,539, on new programs and innovations. We are required by law to present our plan and request public commentary.

The following are Monticello Schools' C4E plan and supporting documents with detailed information about each school:

MCSD Contract for Excellence 2009
C4E District Input 2009
