Student Accident Insurance
The Board of Education provides school time, non-duplicating accident insurance
for all students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. In addition, all injuries,
resulting from interscholastic athletics, are also covered by this insurance
plan.
“School time” coverage pays for injuries sustained while in attendance of
classes during regular school hours, while traveling directly and
uninterruptedly to or from the insured’s residence and school for regular class
sessions, and while participating in or attending school-sponsored and
supervised activities, including all sports.
Students who are injured during regular school hours, or during an after-school
activity, including inter-scholastic activities, are to report their injuries as
soon as possible to the nurse assigned to their school.
Since the school’s accident insurance plan is non-duplicating, the coverage is
limited to hospital and surgical expenses only in excess of benefits payable
under any group or blanket insurance policy or plan that the parent or guardian
has in force.
