School Registration Information
The Monticello Central School District
has ongoing registration for new students throughout the school year
and summer. In addition, every spring, each district elementary
school hosts its own kindergarten registration, screening and
orientation. For a child to qualify for kindergarten, he or she must
turn 5 years of age by December 1 of the school year they start
school.

Registration is done by appointment only.
The Registrar’s office is located on
the lower level of Monticello High School and is part of the
Department of Pupil Personnel Services.

All of the following documents are Required for registration:
• Student’s birth certificate
• Immunization records of child
• Parent’s picture identification with signature
• Proof of residence

As a parent, you are a vital member of the Committee on Special Education (CSE) or Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) in New York State.
The CSE/CPSE is responsible for developing recommendations for special education programs and services for your child. You must be given an opportunity to participate in the CSE/CPSE discussion and decision-making process about your child’s needs for special education.
