For the seventh consecutive year, Monticello High School staff and students will participate in the Lee National Denim Day to benefit breast cancers.
Monticello High School staff and students have generously participated in this program and have raised thousands of dollars to help in the fight against breast cancer. Due to the October 7 conference Day, this year we will be participating on Thursday, October 6 so that students can participate. All donations should be directed to either Joyce Kocsis in Room 231 or Gwen Rettoun in the Nurse's Office at the High School.
One person is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes in the United States. The good news is that more than 2 million women in the U.S. are living as breast cancer survivors because of awareness and state of the art research.
Lee National Denim Day is one of the largest single-day fundraisers for breast cancer. On October 7, 2011, millions of people nationwide will wear their favorite jeans and make a $5 donation to support the Women’s Cancer Programs of EIF, who are bringing together world-class scientists to develop an early detection blood test and working in Lee Labs nationwide to find less toxic, more effective treatments for breast cancer patients.
Since its first year, Lee National Denim Day has raised more than $80 million for the fight against breast cancer and unites nearly one million supporters nationwide each year.
We invite you to join us to support those who have been affected by breast cancer and to help find a cure in our lifetime.
